FACULTY QTES respected members of the Lafayette faculty - Miss Spurr, senior home room teacher and member of the social science department: Miss Goldstein, teacher of French and Spanish: Miss Chamberlain, teacher of English and freshman home room teacher: Miss Bellin- ger of the classical department: and Mr. McGowan, mem- ber of the mathematics department and coach of the i tennis team. we shall not soon forget their helpful cooperation and stimulating influence, their sincere endeavor to incorporate their loftiest ideals into the upbuilding of a great school. ith the retirement of Miss Spurr, Lafayette has lost a true friend and advisor. Many members of the alumni remember with gratitude Miss Spurr's kindly interest in their welfare, her helpful guidance, and her cheerful and friendly manner. We at Lafayette have been enriched by our association with her and we regret that now we see her seldom. We extend out very best wishes for her fu- ture happiness. iss Bessie Goldstein has resigned as teacher of French and Spanish at Lafayette High School to spend most of her time to the teaching of music. She is also teaching French at the Millard Fillmore College of the University of Buffalo. Miss Goldstein has devoted much time to the study of modern languages and her ability as a teacher and her friendly interest in her pupils will D8 very much missed at Lafayette. we wish her great success in her new work. iss Ella Chamberlain has retired after many years of service at Lafayette High School. She too has endeared herself to students and faculty alike and we hope that her health has improved sufficiently so that she may enjoy to the full her years of retirement. i3
