Carl VValz,s duties. Upon being graduated from Hutchinson Central High School, Mr. Walz was awarded a Cornell Scholarship. He came to Lafay- ette as a mathematics teacher in 1928. He belongs to Phi Delta Kappa and has an Rd. M. degree. i' 'A' uk Miss Katherine Reif's principal activities include the col- lecting of any money brought into various funds and organiza- tions and the registration of pupils and arrangement of sched- ules. Unobtrusively and efliciently they perform the many neces- sary tasks around the school with which Lafayette could not dispense. ln their ranks are students of character, integrity, and honesty. The monitor organization is not as large this year as formerly. But it makes up in quality what it lacks in numbers. The organization was begun by ltlr. Himmele several years ago. lVhen N111 Himmele left to join the army the monitors were taken over by the Acting Assistant Principal. Congratulations N111 VValz for the fine way this group has functioned. 1-4
