GE ERATIO SPAST Living in a world with so many different types of people with very dif- ferent outlooks influences us to be as we are. The history of our country, so- ciety as a whole, and an individual himself are all main factors of today's way of life. The more we know about the past, and problems faced by each generation, the better we understand the world of today. ln this way, study- ing past and present generations en- ables us to create a better tomorrow. The study of our land and govern- ment is important for us as individuals to better understand the world in which we live. The History classes study from the pioneers, our earliest heritage, to the advanced age of today. In Government classes, students get the opportunity to study the frame- work of our own form of government. By reading the works of authors from before Christ to contemporary novelists, a student can gain a better understanding and a deeper interest in the world of the past and present, and learn how to as- semble his individual views of the fu- ture. Self-expression can be achieved through many channels - music, art. or drama. But in today's society when so many students are trying to find out who they are.
