And now we had come Through ThaT rain TogeTher, gowns weT, buT wiTh spiriTs dry. We waiTed nervously Tor The momenT we had pracTiced in vain. AT The end oT a hecTic weelc oT exams, parTies, and good-byes, The class oT l97O was grad- uaTing. Lilce The I7-year cicada, we emerged Trom I7 dormanT years To a new world. Commencing Trom wThaT, graduaTing To whaT? many wondered. NoT ThaT iT wasn'T expecTed, graduaTing some- Time was as ineviTable as inviTaTions and gobs oT grad- uaTion money. Surely, parenTs were pleased, They pro- vided well Tor Their children.
