lift FLORIDA L For the '4Pride of the Bluegrass , it was a year of close contests, and one in which a few points meant defeat or victory. Beginning the season with a first place in the Lion's Invitational, the Marching Generals won the contest for the first time. In competition with Kentucky and Ohio hands at Ashland, Lafayette's Band placed second in overall points and first in three main categories. Linda Jewell, Band Sponsor, was chosen queen of the competition. Florida was a highlight of the Marching Generalls year. In St. Petersburg with fifteen other bands from around the country, Lafay- ette placed second with 293 of 300 points.
