1' yt' ' Y N -. NEW GYM AND MATERIALS CENTER W' Lafayette progressed in many ways this year, but this change was most apparent in the library and gym. Vlfhen school began the new gym was in a state of complete confusion and the library was chaos. Gradually, debris was cleaned away and Kentuckyis largest high school library and a larger gym emerged. Now in one room, the library is carpeted and air-conditioned. There are separate study carrels, a film and recording room, and a reference room of magazines and newspapers. ln Lafayetteis new H. L. Davis Student Center, the gym seats 2,000. With red and blue goals and beams, the new gym is a pleasant change from the old one. These additions provide the student with better facilities in which to broaden himself both mentally and physically. Kleftj Workman chisels away the old gym wall for an entrance to the new library. fright! As school started no one would have guessed this structure was to be the new gymnasium.
