Teenage Beauty, P05-96, Talenzflgh There were many inspirations for the girls competing in the December Marquis Pageant, among them the obvious crown and trophy. More important, however, were the respect, friendliness, and great sense of accomplish- ment with which the contestants were reward- ed. After the preliminary contest and selections the final competitors rehearsed long hours, perfecting entrances, acts, stances, and exits. The final production, featuring lVliss Ken- tucky, Rebecca Tolliver Snyder as mistress of ceremonies, and 1964-65 Marquis Queen Ward Hemlepp, was a credit to teenage tal- ent, poise, and beauty, and a fine way to be- gin the Winter season.
