After a fried chicken dinner, they were addressed by Mr. Terry Mobley, history teacher and assistant basketball coach. Explaining that upon grad- uation the senior would turn his ring to face the future, Mr. Mobley said, uWhat itls point- ing to willdepend on you.'7 Anxious to Wear their small symbols of superiority, seniors were pulling for the rings even before class president Kenny Hatfield gave the signal. LHS Students Upholcl Bluegrass Tradition The words aBluegrass and uhorsesw have become almost synonomous to racing fans the World over. Lexingtong the 'cl-leart of the Bluegrass , houses wllhe Big Red Mile , famed trotting track, and Keeneland, a beau- tiful track that often gives experience to hope- ful Kentucky Derby entrants. In addition, the surrounding counties of Fayette, Bourbon, Scott, Clark, and Woodford have bred more and ,higher money winners flVIan O'War, Nashua, Citation, Kelsoj than any other sec- tion in the World. K Carrying on their thoroughbred heritage, many students in the area own horses and take part in such respected contests as the Lexington Junior League Horse Show. Others find it necessary to play a smaller but equally exciting role-Watching thoroughbreds and standard-breds at Keeneland and the trots.
