Thousands of students have made prepara- tion for their parts on the stage of life. Enrollment for 1964 was 1,800. 7 Mr. James D. 1939-1964 Lafayette Celeb' Dr. A. B. lfmwjonl, Lujuyette's first principal, headed the school faculty for six years. On September 1, 1945, Dr. H. L. Daria becarne principal. Lafayette was named to honor the Marquis de Lafayette, the distinguished general who aided the colonies during the Revolutionary War and whose name has been closely- linked with early Fayette County history.
