i Kaplan-Guid. Coun. A. D'Onfrio-Career Couns. M. Brenner-Sr. Treas. Administration S. Zarachoff-Administrative Assistant D, Hecht-Administrative Assistant Dear Seniors: Twelve crucial years in your young lives are drawing to a close. These have been years of preparation for a dynamic world, a world in which the only constant is change. More is being demanded of the youth of your generation than of any other generation in history. The accent of the Sixties is on youth, as though we would refute Shaw's maxim that Youth is wasted on the young . Young presidents lead us, young businessmen chart the course of industry, and young fighters for worthy causes are evident everywhere on the current scene. ' It is our earnest hope that your years at Lafayette High School have prepared you with the knowledge, skills, and maturity which the responsibilities ahead demand, and that we have taught you to temper the exuberance of youth with a disciplined and thoughful search for truth and justice. The theme of your yearbook is Youth on the Move. The question inherent in this theme is, Where are you going? As you grow and mature you will recognize that, even amidst the turmoil of change, certain ideals and goals remain fixed. The warmth and security one finds in a happy family, the dignity and respect owed by each of us to our fellow men, and the adventure of discovery and new learning are all high on the list of goals we hope each of you achieves. Although the graduation of each senior class leaves us a bit saddened, we share the joy and the hope with which we know each of you views his future. Good luck to each and everyone of you.
