as In '57 Sophomores were we, Sing was Greek Mythology. Zeus with roaring bolts of thunder VVas a sight we thrilled to see. Win? Of course we'll win! That was the cry that followed the Saturday night performance of our Sophomore Sing. We were sure that Zeus, played by David Tawil, would lead us on to victory. Our theme was Greek Mythology, and even the Gods must have been shocked by our spirit. The curtain opened each night as the chorus, dressed in white and gold, sang: Oh, Mount Olympus is our home Away up high, up in the sky, From where we'll never roam , . . Chairman jeffrey Bond and Co-Chairman Arlene Haber, along with Susan Goldberg and Caroline Katz, Lyric Chairman and Co-Chairman, created skits depicting, among other things, the deans, the confusing hallways of Lafayette, the characteristics of the Freshmen, juniors and Seniors, and the famous Pioneer school bus: The old school bus, it ain't what it used to be, You have to pay a double fee, it never wants to wait for me . . . Unfortunately, when the results were announced, the Juniors and Seniors had tied, and we had come in third. We vowed that next year we would win, and joined the happy, singing crowd headed for the Famous. When Junior year came rollin' ,round Practice College Boards we found. Studying became a habit Now that we were college bound. But all this hard work and college preparation didn't stop us from working like demons to produce a winning Junior Sing. This year, Lafayette became an International Airport, and Chairman David Tawil, along with Co-Chairman Ellen Brandner, tried to convince the audience, as well as Board of Education in- spectorsn Robert Sherman and Alan Ratner, that our high school would make a good airport. .ffaaavsrasgaxasli ,.,,,..,.-::.,...1 --.- . .sexe ..
