Many little joys fill this year, and dances and socials overshadow lectures and awesome grade advisers. This year ends with Report Cards that, for some reason, show none of the joys, worries and unforgettable experiences of those children who live within the walls of a unique society. Steps are now cock-sure, voices slightly arrogant, four years drawing rapidly to a close. A new and ominous word appears: College,- worried Seniors dust unused books and reserve an empty part of their minds for college applications and interviews. The dual currents of life: private and school, assume an electric importance, or an icy indiference. All the dynamism, all the movement seem too vital . . . too cramped. The State Scholarship and the pep-talks,' those figure analogies without solutions . . . the visions of scholarships existing only in dreams. We won! we won! the shouts ring out from happy seniors-the Sing is ours! Roll up the flag, cart away the props, but memories remain of nostalgia and applause. Life this year looks forward to graduation- and the champagne-colored success of the Senior Prom. Graduation. Accomplishment , . . Too soon.
