LAFAYETTE SCHOOL Time of parting has come. Words do not jill the gap. But quietly, in our hearts- Lafayette, we cannot forget you. Alaroon and White, thanks for the light You shed in a wondering mind. I now see the true self you helped me to jind. Is there a way To throw your arms around your ideal When you have realized it? Or to shake the hands Of those responsible for the wakening Of your tomorrow? The dawn of a new day has broken. A day spawned by a starlit night Which Lafayette, you bore us through. Lighting the paths we each must follow To our destinations anew?

MR. J. GRADY ?rrf14f As I think back through the years, I find two bits of advice worth passing on. First, remember always to aim high, plan- ning well for the future as you do so. Then, never take leave of your sense of humor, for that, above all, will help you immeas- urably, in facing both your successes and your near successes. This year marks the parting of the ways. Some paths lead directly to the world of work. Other roads, for some, extend to the exciting world of higher learning, but all lead to the task of making a living. In this we wish you success. May you also give thought and energy to the making, not only of a good living, but of a better life. May those whose lives touch yours find in you a spirit of understanding and good will, and a readiness to help and share. We hope that through the friends you have made, the activi- ties you have engaged in, the experiences you have shared, Lafayette has served as a stepping stone into that better life. MR. D. POCAI MRS. M. ROSS No one can tell what the future holds for you- tragedy, joy, wealth, poverty, fame or scorn. I sincerely hope that we, your teachers, have helped prepare you to face that future with abiding faith, courage and perseverance. May God shower upon each and every one of you His choicest blessings!
