gokforia June, 1953 This is our Legend-yours and mine. It is a legend of four wonderful years at Lafayette. It is a symbol of the fulfillment of our ambitious strivings. As young boys and girls entering Lafayette, we were unaware of the legend that was to be ours. But as time passed, every friendship formed, every accomplish- ment, and every hope and ideal created became an integral part of that legend. We weren,t aware of it then, but now, every experience remains as a never-to-be forgotten memory in our Legend. As we look back now, we realize that a substantial foundation for our life's work has been given us during these four years. It is upon this foundation that we must build our lives and our careers. We are now young adults who must face the un- certain future without the guidance and advice of our teachers. But we are equipped! The training which we have received at Lafayette will enable us to deal with the perplexing maze of hopes and fears in life. A pleasant chapter of our lives has ended with this Legend, but a more challeng- ing one will begin. For some, graduation will mean embarkation into the business world. For others, it will mean the continuation of studies in college. For all, it will mean the leaving behind of our childhood and immaturity. Yes, it is with reluctance that we leave our Alma Mater, and, it is with great sorrow that we say our Lafayette legend is over. LOUIS ROTHMAN Editor-in-Chief Eight

UAW SW!! A former native of Rye, N. Y., lVIiss Daly migrated to the big city. She attended the Savage School for Physical Education and later on received a B.S. and M.A. at N.Y.U. Even as a youngster in grade school, Miss Daly had visions of some day becoming a teacher. This term her teaching program consisted of both English and Physical Education. As a hobby, Miss Daly enjoys reading. Her advice to seniors is to follow the golden rule, '4Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. MR. DYCKE One of Lafayette's attractive teachers is Mrs. Greenfield. She attended New Utrecht High School and then went on to Hunter and City College. She is a teacher of stenography and typing and enjoys everyone of her classes. Sewing, knitting, and reading are her leisure time hobbies. Mrs. Greenfield, very contented with her life as it is, advises the seniors to continue their education. She feels every student should go to college. MISS DALY A native New Yorker, Mr. Dycke attended Evander Childs High School, and then continued his studies at Juilliard, C.C.N.Y., and Columbia University. As do the majority of the others in the teaching profession, Mr. Dycke also has a favorite type of student. There are those who are interested in some phase of the arts: painting, music, or photography. To all the members of the senior class he bequeaths his best wishes for a harmonious existence. 5 1 MRS.
