See Them sTrolling Through The hall, T-lear Them coming one and all. Are They shorT or are They Tall? IT doesn'T maTTer-we've Typed Them all As you read This bear in mind You have a Triend among each kind. Glamour Girl Whenever you hear a long drawn-ouT whisTIe in The hall and see a group oT boys sTraining Their necks Tor a second look, you can be quiTe sure ThaT The Glamour Girl has iusT passed by. This girl comes To school Tor The express purpose oT aTTracTing all The boys she can. Through The use oT several clever devices, she usually succeeds. The Typical Glamour Girl is an exTremisT. She wears Too much make-up and Too Tew cloThes. To draw aTTenTion To her long and slender legs, her skirTs are worn several inches above her knees. Since black is so TlaTTering To The Tigure, she usually appears in a black dress, eiTher iersey or saTin, wiTh a dash OT red To enliven iT a biT. I-ligh-heeled shoes To add Those exTra inchesiTo her heighT are naTurally parT oT her aTTire. Probably The mosT noTiceable characTerisTic oT The Glamour Girl is her excessive, buT surprisingly eTFecTive use oT make-up. ThaT heavy layer oT ligh+ Tace powder works wonders in giving her ThaT pale, deli- caTe look. The Tullness oT her lips is broughT ouT perTecTly by The deep red lipsTick which she uses. One look aT The expression upon The Taces oT The boys aT whom she Tlashes her lovely dark eyes is ample prooT ThaT her painsTaking applicaTion oT mascara and eye- shadow has noT been in vain. Miss Glamour Girl is, oT course, quiTe sure ThaT she closely re- sembles some moTion picTure acTress or debuTanTe, and Tries her besT To exaggeraTe This resemblance. One day she is Lana Turner, The sweaTer girl, and The nexT day she appears as DoroThy Lamour, in The nearesT approach To a sarong permissible. IT was a happy day Tor The Glamour Girl when she Tinally became EighTeen

TIZQ Dreamers Only The old are very beauTiTuI, Whose hands so sTrangeIy move in slumber, The wrinlcled eyelids dream caresses, And The mouThs grow oddly Tender. The hours oT sleep are longer In The drowsing golden aTTernoons, And in The vioIeT shadowed TwiIighTs The dreams s+iII linger And in The TorTuous nighTs. Sharpy Some LaTayeTTe sTudenTs are baseball enThusiasTs, TooTball lovers. and lady killers-buT This young genTleman's only inTeresT is his per- sonal aTTire. The ouTTiTs he wears To school are indeed very colorTul. l-le wears a iaunTy liTTle pancake haT, more commonly known as a porkpie. l-lis blue corduroy iackeT lknee-lengTh, oT coursel only exaggeraTes The color oT his eyes, and calls aTTenTion To The TiTTeen- inch peg on his Trousers. lMosT sTudenTs oTTen wonder how he geTs inTo Those scanTy-cuTTed panTsg science is probably Taking care oT ThaT by The zipper in each cuTTlll l-lis brown suede shoes and loud-sTriped socks compleTe The picTure oT The Typical Sharpy. AlThough he is raTher Tall, he impresses you as being oT medium heighT. IT seems To be characTerisTic oT mosT Sharpies To sTand wiTh Their knees slighTly benT Torward. No one really knows The reason Tor This unaTTracTive posTure, buT iT is supposed To make The parTicular young man look sharper -and This really counTs. When speaking To Seniors abouT This lad, The girls reTer To him as Tall, dark and handsome g The masculine epiTheT Tor him is slighTly diTTerenT-- Tall, dark and gruesome. Can This be envy? We wonder! Borrower There he siTs, waiTing paTienTly Tor you, his vicTim. When you arrive, his serenade sTarTs. The TirsT cry is, Give me a pen. ATTer he succeeds in procuring one, he discovers ThaT iT is wiThouT ink. SoliciTing ink Trom all The sTudenTs in his viciniTy, he siTs down prepared To wriTe, buT Tinds he has no paper. A believer in The old adage. WhaT's yours is mine, he cheerTully pokes you in The ribs wiTh a requesT Tor paper. ln order To gain some peace so as To be able To Tollow The lesson. you give him a sheeT oT paper. Silence prevails Tor a while unTil The noTes are compleTed. When he sTarTs geTTing bored, iT becomes dangerous again Tor The Tellow sTudenTs siTTing nexT To him. l-le realizes ThaT he hasn'T eaTen since breakTasT. Then begins a new cry, which is immediaTely recognized as The hunger plea, Who has a nickel Tor a sTarving Triend? When everyone reTuses, he Teels very hurT and subsides in silence nursing his oTTended pride. BuT since he isn'T The Type To remain angry aT his Tellow school- maTes, he enTers The classroom The nexT day and sTarTs The same old rouTine oT borrowing all over again.
