-mx ,gnu-rf l ' 5 '3llunp-. Num., Nw f W.. ., ...M M For many, 1968 will have been a year of protest or ,mere apathy, but for Lafayette students the term will represent encouragement. For the 1968 Lancers have earned their chivalrous title by the constant and prevailing support of activities, sports, and academic standards as ex- empliiied by the Pep Clubbanners, the team records, and the cooperation of students and faculty within the classroom and beyond. Innovation has played its part in the new encourage- ment. Student exchange with Lambton Central Collegiate Vocational Institute in Petrolia, Ontario andiwith Sequoyah in Tahlequah, Oklahoma helped create new understanding be- tween peoples and perhaps a new understanding of ourselves through the sharing of ideas. Similarly the experimental Humanities program has expanded our awareness of the arts by letting us experience art and architecture, opera, symphony, theatre, and ballet personally. In addition, an enlarged Athletic program, a Cooperative Occupational Education program, and a modem dance workshop gave even more opportunity for our enthusiasm to develop. For these reasons we of the 1968 Lancers' Legend Staff are proud to dedicate this yearbook to 7 . the new spirit emerging within Lafayette, and to those students and teachers who have molded their dreams into reality. . new ,., h's '1f three
