Milhoan The Lafayette High School Band, under the direction of Mrs. Merle Abbott, has a member h' f 42 th's ear The intermediate band has a membership of 24. Last summer the band s ip o 1 y . played at the Denver Bears Stadium in Denver on Lafayette Night. The band then held two Concerts at which ice cream and cake were sold to raise money for the band to buy instru- t After nine weeks of twice-weekly summer band classes in playing and marching, the rrlen S. Q band marched for the Lafayette Day parade and the Memorial Day parade in Louisville. After school started, the band marched in the Band Day parade at Boulder and got a superior l t' . The band la ed for all the home foqtball and basketball games and also for the C 7 fa mg P V Junior and Senior Plays. In the spring the band held a concert and participated in the Colorado 1 f State Annual Music Contest held in Englewood every year. The band is planning to p ay or Baccalaureate and Commencement and to march in the Labor Day parade.
