Miss Mildred Lucus, class sponsor, chaperoned the group. The class has also had a very successful concession at basketball games this year. A, ,t.,e Georgette and Thelma were the managers for Joy and Kay in the campaign of student council Vice Pres. Day, The last activity for the class of 57 will be Sneak This long awaited holiday will take place in May. Alps Lodge in Boulder Canyon on May lZ. A large crowd attended. Marde Gras was the theme. One of the most important persons in the play was prompter, Patsy Distel, who also handled the sound effects. The jr. class play, Brother Goose , was held December 14 in the high school auditorium under the direction of Mrs. E. Calvert. This 3 act comedy was about an older brother Jeff, playing father and mother to his parentless brother and two sisters. All the adventures which befall .Teff while he plays this roll include a rich girl who's after him pretending to buy property next door, Mrs. Trimmer, an elderly woman, foiling the plot and saving the property, ana Jeff falling in love with the hosiery saleswoman turned maid. They took part in an Exchange Assembly with Fort Lupton. The Student Council also helped to organize the Tri-Valley League-Student Council, of which we are a charter member. Another project of the year was the making of a school calendar for each teacher on which the activities were recorded. To encourage the students of Laiayette High School to better themselves in their scholastic ability, character, service, and leadership, the Bobcat Chapter of the National Honor Society, sponsored by Mrs. Wagers, was installed December 5, 1956. In the first meeting of the Bobcat Chapter held January 10 during the fourth period in Mrs. Wager's room, plans were made to meet the first Thursday of each month. The band then held two Concerts at which ice cream and cake were sold to raise money for the band to buy instru- t After nine weeks of twice-weekly summer band classes in playing and marching, the rrlen S. Q band marched for the Lafayette Day parade and the Memorial Day parade in Louisville. After school started, the band marched in the Band Day parade at Boulder and got a superior l t' . In the spring the band held a concert and participated in the Colorado 1 f State Annual Music Contest held in Englewood every year.
