Pirates Draw Lancaster fractional Tourney Second Straight Year Lancers Are First Foes Roger Lake all Team Bob Wright Tom Deuter Jim Rupert AT HUNTINGTON — Allen County ' s Lafayette Central will make its second appearance in this tourney tonight when it meets Lancaster at 8:15 p.m. These same clubs met last year when Lafayette played here for the first time and the Huntington County five upset the Pirates, 66-65. Tonight ' s open- er, at 7, sends defending champion Huntington Catholic against Clear Creek. The 1959 champs are fa- vored while the second game Is fated a tossup. Huntington and Andrews won as pected as the tournament opened re Wednesday. The Vikes turned ck Jeffferson, 74-33, while the ardinals sidelined Roanoke, 63-39. Andrews ' John Bigelow led all scorers with 23 points. Lafayette Central drew Lan- caster for the second straight year. This will be the Pirates 2nd year in the Huntington Sectional. Last year the Pirates were switch- ed from the Fort Wayne Sectional to Huntington ' s Sectional. Lancaster defeated Lafayette 66-65 in the Pirates first appear- ance in the Community Gym- nasium in Huntington last year. Lafayette Central Pins 58-52 Loss On Woodlan COUNTY ROUNDUP Pirate Lafayette Central rallied in the second half to down Woodlan, 58- 52, and snap the Warriors ' six- game winning streak in an Allen County Athletic Conference game at Lafayette Central last night. The Pirates evened their confer- ence record at 2-2 and boosted their overall mark to 6-4. Wood- lan dropped its second ACAC de- cision in three starts and its third. Ar C0 i, overall against six victories. The Bucs trailed, 16-12, after one period and 35-31 at halftime. The Pirates moved ahead, 44-42, at the three-quarter mark and then added another four points to their final margin in the fourth period. Roger Lake paced the Pirates ' attack with 27 points. Monwell Sheley added 12 and Bob Evans tallied 11. Jerry Closson topped Woodlan with 13 while Lester Rekeweg connected for 12. Harlan scored a come-from-be- hind 68-44 victory over Elmhurst.
