The epidemic usually sTrikes around The beginning of March, someTimes earlier someTimes laTer. IT affecTs everyone freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and espe cially seniors. SympToms: resTlessness in class, Tendencies To gaze longingly ouT The window, nosTalgia for The slopes of Aspen, or The sands of Hawaii. Diagnosis SPRING FEVER!!! VicTims are affecfed in all aspecTs of Their lives. They suffer an inabiliTy To func Tion in school, They can'T possibly do homework, and They can'T bear The ThoughT of a weekend coming To a close ln exTreme cases, vicTims have been known To wax down Their surfboards break ouT Their bikinis, and polish Their skis early. On warm, sunny days, fiTs of Spring Fever are frequenTly induced when vic Tims caTch sighT of Vail sweaTshirTs, breezy converTibles, and Tanned bodies. STu denTs who suffer from The fever have been seen flocking To The courTyard To while away free hours in The sun. Teachers reporT ThaT sTudenTs become unTeacha ble when sTruck wiTh The afflicTion: exciTe menT overfakes concenTraTion and Teachers are lefT helpless. 'Spring Fever is highly conTagious and is never curable. SympToms may be averT ed, however, in a number of ways: vicTims can find Temporary relief in lisTening To Beach Boys Tunes, cross-counTry skiing Through neighborhoods, or lying in a cool baThTub wiTh a sunlamp and a Pina Co lada. Many sTudenTs daydream abouT a favoriTe vacaTion spoT when a bouT of The fever aTTacks. They reflecf upon Florida beaches, Michigan lakes, Colorado mounTains, or European sighfs. VicTims long for The mornings when They can sleep laTe and The days when They can keep up wiTh The soap operas. Do you suspecT you have acquired Spring Fever?
