Student Congress Initiates Changes The 1978-1979 Student Congress, led by presi- dent Steve Borowsky, secretary Connie Orchard, and class advisors Steve Harris, Steve Grand, and Jeff Vittert, accomplished much for Ladue students. The special programs committee exposed the student body to a variety of interesting lectures and demon- strations on such subjects as karate and magic, through the assembly of the month program. Privi- leges Committee introduced a new large salad to the cafeteria menu and again organized the lunch time snack barg Curriculum Committee successfully ex- tended the pass-fail deadline and investigated the advanced biology program. The election committee supervised all school elections. 12 - Activities

Student Improve Speaking This year's debate and forensics teams completed yet another successful year. The debate team, aided by sponsor Mr. Bill Heyde and captains Jerry Bernard, Steve Borowsky, Steve Harris and John Gallop, received trophies in both local and out-of-town tournaments, and entered several members in state finals competition. Captains Nina Gabianelli and Mindy Markow and sponsor Mrs. Linda Box coun- seled the forensics team in such areas as humorous interpretation and poetry reading.
