It was the same old ship that had carried many passengers to safe harbors in the Land of Great Wisdom, but this day was a gala day in its history, and many people gazed upon it in wonder as they watched the eight beautiful and charming young ladies and the fifteen bold and dashing young gentlemen as they so happily stepped aboard, for it was rumor- ed that they were about to set sail over new and untried waters in a quest for the Fountain of Perfect Understanding. As the ship stood at anchor on that eventful, morning of September, the passengers began to arrive, and as the ship's register was completed, the following had signed aboard: Danny Boone, Freddie Brennan, Helen Bullock, Monte Chadwick, Harold Cline, David French, Evangeline Light, Allen Long, Eddie Long, Mary Long, Robert Long, Jim Miller, Dale Newhouse, Perry Rodman, John Rogers, Carrie Lou Sears, Eddie Sears, Richard Stark, William Strickler, Joan Swinney, and Betty Zimmerman. This was the first voyage that the Junior and Senior High were consolidated on the same ship. That meant we had to endure many hardships to maintain our standing on the voyage. We led the way for other Seventh Grade classes to be on the same ship as the Seniors. We left the wharf to set sail on the voyage of Junior and Senior High School Life. During the next two years we sailed the Seventh and Eighth Seas, and moved forward into the immense four seas of Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior. During the voyage there were naturally a few cases of seasickness, and various ones were tempted to throw up algebra, geometry, and other disagreeable dishes, and to toss some of their best belongings overboard in times of rough seas, but the Stewardess assured them calmly but firmly that they would only have to consume these indigestibles over and over until they were perfectly assimilated, and so they bravely managed to hold them down. During the last two years we have endured many activities among which are the Junior play, Junior-Senior Reception, annual, and Senior play. We have also had many delightful experiences and many wonderful lessons. The Passenger List has changed at many points with the following now registered: Danny Boone, Louie Brown, Monte Chadwick, Harold Cline, Jim Clonca, David French, Evangeline Light, Allen Long, Mary Long, Robert Long, Dale Newhouse, John Rogers, Richard Stark, William Strickler, and Joan Swinney. Now the few who still remain together land at Commencement Wharf. We must not divulge the secrets of our shipmates. We must not forget the loyalty due te our class colors of purple and white so valiantly flying at the masthead. The best and most vitalshistory of one person or thing is never given to the world. So must it be with the Class of 19 3. Now we look at the larger and more majestic ocean ahead and feel that our experience has fitted us to withstand every storm, and weather any opposing force with no fear of disaster, saying with Byron: 'Roll on, thou deep and dark blue ocean, roll! Ten thousand fleets sweep over thee in vain.W But not in vain, the class of,19S3l We will go on writing new logs of greater adventure and yet more wonderful discovery, for while the voyage of Junior and Senior High School Life is at an end, the voyage of Real Life is just now and here at its Triumphant Commencement. Pfwvfwif Allen Long, our boy of the farm Richard Stark, so tall and lean, Is our idea of a 'prince of channn So high in the clouds, he can hardly be seen Except for his farm life he would be fine Someday when he owns a grocery store For when it cones to girls, they nit in une, He'l1 have to install a special door. Dale Newhouse, as years go by, John Rogers, a Navy boy he will be, Ae far as we can see He'll make all the French girls say Noni ouin Will milk his cows and slop his pigs, His sweet little Sue will sit at home And happy he will be. While the wide blue seas John will roam. V . Bill Strickler, the fair-haired lad Whol we all like a lot After high school he will be A reporter on the Spot! Joan Swinney, a sweet little lass Goes up to the office for a pass Every morning at a quarter past eight We hope, in college, she won't be late. Evangeline Light, a secretary she will be To some handsome man in a large company In Indianapolis she will stay Margie, her rounmate, to share her pay. Mary Long, our cheerleading gal We all like her and call her pal She may marry Wilbur and live in town, Or she might find a farm boy and settle down. Margie Kenworthy, so short and sweet Will some day occupy an important seat kNsecretary she will be, we hope, With bosses' problens she will cope. Bob Long, a drugstore he will own He'll be a very hard worker, He'll have lots of money to loan Danny Boone, a romeo is he, With his curly hair and eyes of brown, A television star he may be His show will be the Girls of the Town. Louie Brown in typing he doesn't excel But about his future we can't tell For all we know he may be An important man in some cmparur. Monte Chadwick, we will say Will surely make the grade He likes to cross electric wires He'll have a shocking trade! The Cubs will look for David French, 'I'hey'll send a scout around. When he flashes all those greenbacks, How can David turn him downl Harold Cline, a first-class millionaire, Walking around with his head in the air, Driving around in his big cadillac, le hope he doesn't get a crink in his back! Jim Cloncs, a farmer he will be, He'll marry Joanne L. 'I'hey'1l settle on a little farm, And mutton they will sell. flaw ' We, the senior class of Ladoga High School, county of Montgomery, and State of Indiana, being of sound mind and memory, do hereby make, publish, and declare this to be our last will and testament, hereby revoking any will or wills heretofore made by us.
