7 11- V I 5 V If someone asked a high school graduate what year in school his class had the great- est financial troubles, there would be no hesitation in his response. When we were Juniors. That was exactly what we Juniors of 49 worried over. Like every other ambi- tious Junior Class, the first resort was to present a play. Ours, called Calm Yourself, was presented on October 9, 1948 with the following cast: Fred Smithie ................................. . . . Larry Nicholson Fannie Smithie. . . Lucie Smithie .... B arbara Hanson .... Harold Ainsworth . . . Jack Bird ............ Mrs. George Wonder . . . Mr. George Wonder . . Hank Webster ...... . . . Louise Hicks . . Ruthanna B ritts . . . Maybeth Todd . . . Paul Clark . . Carl Zimmerman . . Betty Eldridge . . Eugene Everhart . . Paul Lowery MaryZimmerman Among the several money making activities of the Juniors was the making and selling of novelty yarn dolls of green and gold. Although these were not found too successful in high school, the grades made up for it. There was a unanimous vote to try selling popcorn at all home ball games which turned out to be qute profitable. On November 9, 1948, with the Seniors, we planned and held a Carnival in the old gym dividing the profits between the two classes. Under the careful guidance of our sponsor, Mr. Neff, and the rest of the class, these activities were successful and we were proud to be wearing gray and maroon sweaters representing the class of 50. Our class officers for the year were President, Paul Clark Vice-President, Joed C lark: Secretary and Treasurer, Floyd Ball. EASTER BUNNY LARRY NICHOLSON Bunny comes but once a year With baskets full of eggs, And he travels many miles On four white stubby legs. He travels to the rich and poor To all colors and creeds, With Easter baskets by the score Carrying on his good deeds. When all is put away with care And night departs from day, Bunny would like to be there, To hear what children say. And now that all is happy and gay, And no one sheds a tear, Bunny would like to say- Good-bye until next year. 9 - a,.4....-....... , , , ,..nn......,
