HISTORY Four years ago we started our high school careers as freshmen with thirty-one classmates. We elected Mrs. Bunnell as our freshman sponsor. We were duly initiated into our first year in high school. e Our Sophomore year was started by electing Miss Otterman as our sponsor. We had the pleasure that year to initiate the class of 49. When our class convened in September in 47 we were juniors. We tried every means possible to raise enough money to give the junior-Senior Reception. We chose Mr. Neff for our Sp0I1S01'.Ourjunior Play, Grandma Steps Out , was given on October 23, 1946 with Mrs. Edmiston as our director. - The Cast was as follows: .,.,.Alberta Ashley Mrs, Muriel Green, Granddaughter,,,,, Prissy. a neighbor brat ......Mary Etta Rank Ruth Green, Older Granddaughter .,,,,, ,,,. ..........Vernon Ross Adam Bailey, High School Principal ,,,,, , Mrs. Cora Snyder, Grandma ,,,.,...,,,... The Auditorium was decorated in a Southern Plantation Theme. After the banquet, dancing was enjoyed by all until 10:00 o'clock, then we went to the Ladoga theater and were entertained with a movie. In the fall of 47 we took our places as Seniors on the north side of the assembly. We elected Mrs. Edmiston as our sponsor. The first semester brought few activities, but the second swamped us with its activities. We met our dead line for the Annual and sold over one hundred copies. On March 12, we gave a St, Patricks' Day Carnival to raise money for the three-day Senior trip to Chicago. We gave our Senior Play April' 16, and enjoyed the junior-Senior Reception April 23. We listened to the Baccalureate Sermon April Z5 and took our Senior trip to Chicago April 26, Z7 and 28. We went via chartered bus, stayed at the YMCA and saw all the wonderful things in Chicago. Our class of 23, with the boys in blue robes, and the girls in white robes, were graduated Thursday night, April 2.9, Dr. Haramy of Indianapolis gave the address, which was on This Atomic World. , We were happy to graduate but felt a little sad to think we were really out of high school. 26' Ik Ik S02 Three boys Uerry Zachary, jim Reiter, and Kenyon Roberts, were sitting in the drug store drinking a milk shake one night just before a ball game. Their subject was , dying, Kenyon said he would like to die fast, maybe in a high speed automobile. Then jim Reiter said he thought that was a good idea of dying but he preferred a jet plane. Then jerry spoke up, agreeing with the other two boys, only he had a faster way yet,--by making some woman's husband jealous. .- . ' 'II' .
