The tables were third 6 weeks grading. period of beautifully decorated with lilacs, the gkeqqggj Semester: tulips and colored candles. Thanks 4 was returned by Olin Swinney, principal. Mrs. Ralph Crosby, president, welcomed the alumni, Quests, and especially the new- Qnembers-the class of '48. Re- gpoonse was given by Mary Etta . nk. Mrs. Chester Ludlow, on fthe violin accompanied by Mrs. Uack Elless at the piano, played peveral selections. S A delicious supper was served by the Rebekah Lodge to 141 Qnembers and guests. Mrs. Ludlow with Miss Loretta Q ?Martin at the piano led the group ' iin community singing. During the business meeting, the nominating committee re? ported Leo Martin for president: iJim Byrd for vice-presidentg and Mrs. Lester Swoverland for sec- retary-treasurer. Motion was made o-and passed the report be accepted and the officers duly selected. Raymond- Oliver, toast- master, introduced several guests who responded with a few words and the year in which they were graduated. Among those were iMrs. -Lois Barr, Henry Harrison, Julia Heighway, Jim Byrd, Leo Martin 'and Wendell Cheshire, fand Mrs. J. B. Newlin. e fatter the banquet, dancing and p .card playing was enjoyed in they new gym. Bob Barton?s ll-pieced orchestra and vocalist furnished the music. to Bob Crosby won thei door prize of a potted plant. s 11 s In Hospllal U Carl Loland Edrniston, 43, died Friday- afternoon at 3 o'clock at Culver hospital after a week's ill- . ness. Death was attributed to complications. g Born Jan. 5, 1940 at Claremont, Ill., he was the son of Jacob and Laura Copley Edmiston. He mar- ried Hazel Harris June 7, 1848, at Coburn, Ind. Mrs. Edmiston was ia teacher in the Ladoga High 'school the past two years and was sponsor of the senior class this last year. He was a member of the Meth- odist church at Claremont and was an employee of the Mid States Steel and Wire Co. He was the youngest of a family of six ichildren. Surviving are the widow, three sons: John, Jacob and Paul, all at horneg three brothers, Alden -' of Chester, Ill., 'Lloyd of Xenia, ' Ill., 'and Glenn of Washington, two sisters,'Mrs. Freda Bucking- A ham of Flora, and Mrs. Gladys Edwards of Seymour, and several 1 J I nieces and nephews. ' Funeral services were in charge of Rev. P. J. Hamilton and were ,held Monday jafternoon at 1 o'clock from the Proffitt 8a Son parlors. Burial was in Masonic 'cemetery.
