...J honesdale looked huge as they ran onto the field. they were one ofthe preseason picks to win it all and here we were readying ourselves to play them. once again that monster raged, and again, on the opening kick- off, it was released. it was a battle of the defenses, but we seemed to have the secret weapon- - desire . . . a week later the skies threatened us that this was no day to play football, but we went against their wishes and began the game with west side tech. the game was full of mud, wetness and cold. any advantage we had was nullified by the torrential downpour, all advan- tages except one- desire... 58
