BEVERLY LE VEY The school is practically devoid of life. From the student concourse, there suddenly echoes a spontaneous RAH . Even the newest in sound- proofed celings cannot contain the enthusiasm o f our cheerleaders a s they perfect their la t e st rouser for the next game. The cheerleader must be a fusion of many qual- ities. Perfection is only one. She must have the grace of agazelle,the lightness of a feather, the power of a dynamo, the voice of a fog horn the guile of an ambassador, the coyness of a coquette, and anundying confidence and enthus- lasm for her team. The hopefuls who try out for the squad all possess many of these qualities. It is, However, only those who canpolish and develop these qualities into an asset c alled poise whowill be chosen for the 1960 JV squad. Then, like Sandy, Arlene, Louise, Chris,Evie, Peggy, and Dana who have added something in the way of their own unflagging spirit to our cheers, will they deserve to be remembered.
