FUHEUIUHD LACKAWANNA is in reality the City of Steel,,' for the coming of this great industry created an industrial city from a farmland. As the giant stacks rose along the waterfront, so also did the city' s life grow. Churches and schools became the early landmarks, and Lackawanna High came in 1906 to crown the limestone ridge on the slopes of which the city has been built. Steel is directly or indirectly a major factor in our daily, personal existence, in our growth and learning, and in our civic realities. The pages of this Annual will attempt to portray the role of the school in the pattern of our community life. just as steel is rolled and molded into desirable finished products, so do we hope that our days in Lacka- wanna High School have also shared in molding our character and citizenship. Studies, athletics, clubs, dances, and other school activi- ties pictured here have helped to form the mold which has shaped our ambitions, our hopes, and our resolves for the future. Let us pray that we shall be, like steel, firm and steadfast in our search for the good and true in life. Editor 2
