CMDCMCSWXAW5 Tony C. Ford Command Master Chief USS LABOON CDDG 585 CMDCMCSWXAW5 Tony C. Ford was born on Nlarch ll, 1963 Maryville, TN. Upon his graduation from Surnrnerx ille High School in l98l, he enlisted following in his fathers footstep and reported for Recruit Training in December 1981 in Orlando. Fl. After completing Basic training, Electronics 'A' and C schools, he reported to his first ship, USS BOWEN I FF H179 in July 1983 stationed in Charleston, SC. His other sea duties include the USS CLAUDE V. RICKETTS CDDG 55 CSS CLPH 95, Commander Cruiser Destroyer Group Two the Assistant Material Officer for George Washington Battle Grow. USS Mahan CDDG 725, USS Bataan CLHD 55. Ashore, Master Chief Ford has served at Fleet Trainin Center, NORVA as an instructor for the High Frequency I HF Atlantic CFTSCLANT5, and FACSFAC VACAPES as the Maintenance Division Officer. Master Chief Ford eamed his Enlisted Surface Warfare qualification in June 1986 in CSS C land V. Ricketts CDDG 55 and his Enlisted Air Warfare specialist qualification in J uly 1992 in CSS Guam iLPH 95. In December 2001, he eamed a Bachelor of Science CLiberal Arts5 Degree from Excelsior C olle ge. He attended the Senior Enlisted Academy at Maxwell AFB, Alabama in 2003. In June 2005. he earned a Masters of Science CHuman Resource Management5 Degree from Troy University. Master Chief-Ford's personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal with fix e Gold Stars, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with one Gold Star and various unit awards. Commander Jonathan C. Russell Executive Officer Uss LABooN tooo 5s5 Commander Jonathan C. Russell, a native of Okemos Michigan, is a 1993 graduate of the United States Naval , Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in Oceanography. Commander Russell has served in a number of shipboard and shore assignments. From November 1995 to December 1997, he served on USS Thach CFFG 435 as the Electrical Officer and Combat Information Center Officer. Onboard Thach, homeported in Yokosuka, Japan, he deployed to the Arabian Gulf in support of the United Nations sanctions against Iraq. From February 1998 to September 1999, Commander Russell served in USS O,Brien CDD 9755, also homeported in Japan, as the Main Propulsion Assistant. From 1999 to 2001 he was an instructor at the Naval Academy Preparatory School in Newport, RI, teaching physics to prospective Coast Guard and Naval Academy Midshipmen. After completing Department Head school in March 2002, Commander Russell reported to the guided missile frrgate USS Nicholas CFFG 475 as the Operations Officer, preparing the Nicholas for a surge deployment to the Mediterranean Sea in support of Operation: Enduring Freedom. In October 2003 Commander Russell reported to Commander Destroyer Squadron Two Six as the Operations Officer and deployed with the Truman Strike Group in 2004 in support of Operation: Iraqi From 2005 to 2006 Commander Russell attended the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth KS where he eamed a masteris degree in Military Art and Science. In September 2006 he reported to Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron Six, Portsmouth, VA, as Executive Officer. Commander Russell reported to USS Laboon CDDG 585 in August 2008 as Executive Officer. H1s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal tone gold star5, and old stars5 as well as various other unit and service awards. 5
