COMAND MASTER CHEIF Command Master Chief Paul F. Ducharme Master Chief Ducharme was born and raised in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. After completion of high school, he joined the US Navy in March 1977. He attended Recruit Training and Hospital Corps A School in Great Lakes, XL. He reported to his first duty station. Naval Medical Research Institute Bethesda, MD serving as a Research Laboratory Assistant from August 1977 - June 1980. He served as a Preventive Medicine Technician at US Naval Air Facility, Midway Islands from February 1981 - January 1982, USS FRANK CABLE {AS-40) , where he earned his ESWS qualification and was command advanced to HM2 , from February 1982 - January 1985. HMl(SW) Ducharme served in USS DWIGHT D EISENHOWER (CVN- 69) from April 1988 - May 1991. During this tour he earned his EAWS qualification and was selected for advancement to Chief Petty Officer in September 1990. Selected for Master Chief in April 1996, he served as Coimnand Master Chief in US Naval Hospital Keflavik Iceland from November 1996 - December 1998 and Naval Medical Center Portsmouth VA from December 1998 - September 2001. He reported to USS LABOON (DDG-58) as Command Master Chief in October 2001. Coniand Master ChL-i!

EXECTIVE OFFICER Lieutenant Conanander George S. Capen Lieutenant Commander George S. Capen is from Dearborn, Michigan and enlisted as a Machinist Mate in the Navy in 1982. He entered the Naval Academy from the Nuclear Propulsion program in 1985. He studied oceanography and graduated with the Class of 1989. At sea, his division officer tours included Communications and ASW Officer in USS KINKAID (DD 965) . His Department Head tours were as the pre-commissioning Operations Officer in USS THE SULLIVANS (DDG 68) and he served as Combat Systems Officer and then Operations Officer in COMDESRON 21. Ashore, Lieutenant Commander Capen completed a Master of Physics degree at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey. He is also a graduate of the MIT Strategic Studies Fellowship Program Seminar XXI. He recently departed the Navy Staff in the Pentagon where he was Special Assistant for Long-Range Planning to the Chief of Naval Operations and Speechwriter for the Vice Chief of Naval Operations. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards) and the Navy Achievement Medal .
