Not only did we start the 1965-1966 term with a new name, but also we had a record enrollment of 423 students. By looking back, we find that this enroll- ment was 83 higher than last year's and 298 more than the 125 students who attended in 1923 when Parsons Junior College was established. Nor are these the only signs that point to a school which is continually seeking new ideas, accepting change, in general, growing. Before this book is completed, a new Board of Trustees will have been elected to administer jun- ior college needs. A marble sign viill soon display the school's name for all to see, new classes will be added, and students and teachers will continue to add new ideas to those which have led this junior college to its present standard of excel- lence. On the pages of this book the staff and I have tried to record accurately signs of growth so evident on our campus this year. Its meetings are still held as informal discussions over coffee in the lounge. The members meet, not to solve problems, but to share their views on matters of community, national, and world importxnce. Since its formation, Symposiast members have discussed such matters as Increased Power in Federal Governmentf, Censorship of Literature and Movies, Federal Aid to Educationf, and The Population Explosion.
