AN THROUGH THE AGES has attacked his inherent prob- lems in a great variety of ways as first one, then an- other, school of thought prevailed. Viewed from man's perspective today, three generalities of time are assumed. They are echthes, semeron, and aurion - descriptive Greek words for YESTERDAY, TODAY, and ToMoRRow. Growth, achievement, and adaption have marked the de- velopment of both our alma mater and her important product from the beginnings pictured by the first assembly of 1923 to the present. But what of the future? Using past experience as a guide- post and present demands as a starting point, we must aim for higher goals of understanding and culture .... much, too, is ex- pected of him who has much. Tomorrow we must come to be honest with ourselves, each saturating himself in his own way in the affairs of all men, seek- ing knowledge bound not by the bigotry of yesterday nor the indifference of today. Only then can humanity's destiny be clear- ly viewed. This is the purpose of education. Echthes ...... Semeron ...... they are gone and fleeting. But what will be done with Aurion?
