A CAPPELLA Cl-lOlR The i946-47 season of the A Cappella Choir season was one of much activity and success. The first appearance of the choir was with the orchestra in the community Thanksgiving service. The Christmas program was, perhaps, the climax of the choirs program. The choir members pyramided themselves around a silvered tree, forming a pictur- esque background for the singing of carols and Christmas anthems. The choir joined with the orchestra .lanuary 30, and April 22 for concerts. Road trips took the choir before the stu- dents of the Altamont, Chetopa, Mound Valley, Oswego, Edna, Erie, St. Raul, and lVlcCune schools. The choir formed a nucleus for the annual presentation of Dubois' Seven Last Words, which opened the Holy Vifeek Services in the Municipal Auditorium. The choir finished a successful year with singing at the Baccalaureate service and the Graduation exercises for the Mercy Hospital Nursing class. Achievement awards to the choir mem- bers were made on the basis of all around musicianship and the students contribution to the musical life of the church and community.
