The Ebony Blade Under the direction of its writers, the senior play was coming along well, but not well enough. And then. . . and then . . . along came jones. To the cast and to the entire senior class, The Ebony Blade will always hold some very fond memories. To future classes, it will always be a goal for achievement. The senior class of 1972 pulled off what may well be the greatest achievement ever by students of La Vega High School. The Ebony Blade, a semi-musical written by Boyd Barrett and Ricky Lowe, raked in well over six hundred dol- lars for the class. The talented cast sparkled both nights in front of packed audiences. The beautifully written score was done by David Woodliff, Thomas Clough, and Beasley Reece.
