QirIs’ physical education L. to R.: Mrs. Mary Melick, Mrs. Jeanene Heckcr, Miss Carole Crease—Department Head, Miss Betty Czuprynski. The Girls' Physical Education Department is very interested in teaching the femmes of La Sierra the proper forms and techniques of various sports and the policy of good sportsmanship. Our girls brush up on their swimming, and learn how to play and enjoy tennis, golf, volleyball, basketball, baseball, archery and many other fine sports. Modern Dance is also included in the Girls' P. E. Department. This is a class designed to develop poise, good posture, originality, and expression of moods. Physical Education is not only enjoyable but it helps the girls to relax from the pressures of home work and other worries accumulated during other classes. 74
