The American Field Service is an organization devoted to promoting world peace through a better understanding between the young people of the world. It is the responsibility of the committee to sponsor La Sierra s Foreign Exchange Student every year. In addition to this, each year, a student from La Sierra is chosen by a special selection committee to represent La Sierra in the American Abroad program. Last year's representative from La Sierra was Senior, Janis Zimdars. Janis went to Norway, where she gained many friends for Amer- ica, and demonstrated what a valuable asset the American Abroad program is. 128
