ARCHERY CLUB After school shoots, with instruction for beginners and competition among the better students, gave all levels of archers an opportunity for fun. HOME ECONOMICS CLUB The Home Economics Club was organized for those students who have an active interest in learning more about their chosen career in fiome economics. The high points of the club for this year were their field trips to the University of California at Davis, Sacramento State College, and the P.G. E. plant. F.B.L.A. has been one of the most active clubs at La Sierra. During December they had a clothing drive foe the hospitals in Germany. The club also addressed many en- velopes for the Crippled Chil- dren's Society. A candy sale in December was their fund- raising project for the year. They attended the North- ern Section of the State F.B.L.A. Convention in San Francisco in February. The Roseville Chapter formally installed the officers and charter members at an impressive candlelight cere- mony on March 10. |2

Its purpose is to foster a high standard of scholarship for students in high school. A student must earn 10 grade points a semester in order to lx eligible. This year's group was quite active. Their money-raising projects were the Slave Auction' and the selling of Hex Dolls They held their C.S.F. Life Membership Banquet and Installation ceremonies on February 16. Their annual Privi- lege Day occurred in May. Miss Schleck was the competent advisor for the group. 128

GERMAN CLUB This year the German Club members furthered their knowl- edge of German culture and the language. They viewed a film from Seattle about the German consulate. BIOLOGY CLUB The Biology Club promotes further interest in biology for students. Heiden- reich, C. Graham, M. Curley, A. Heidenreich, T. Stanton. S. Guidero. The Astronomy Club has now been in existence for two successful years. This club had many varied activ- ities during the year such as grinding telescope lenses, making sunspot counts and measurements, meeting with the Sacramento Astronomical Society, doing star photog- raphy, having star parties, and listening to guest speak- ers. 130
