W. . Vik l R. Dale May - 1985 Dear Students: and the usual excitement that comes through outstanding campus events such as: the Festival of Nations ' the opening of the Fine Arts Center a week of spiritual devotion with Bailey Gillespie ' winning an event in Almost Anything Goes. Add to this list the personal experiences that each one of you have had which become so meaningful when the time is spent with a special friend or a small group of close buddies. Hopefully, these and a host of other memories will go through your mind as you relive the 1984-1985 La Sierra Experience through the pages of VISIONS. Both of us sincerely trust that this University experience has been an outstanding one for you and we wish you a profitable summer. We do hope to see you again next fall, or at least to follow the successes of you seniors as you continue on into your chosen profession. This has been a special school year. Hopefully, it has been a giant step for each one of you in completing your educational goals and has been filled with profitable study and the pleasure of times with good friends. In reviewing the year, a number of happenings have helped to make this an extraordinary: the thrill and exitement of being part of a great University ex- perience with Baby Fae in an attempt to find a way to make life possible for those with serious heart defects, ' the excitement of being involved with the election of a new presi- dent for our country, and ' the planning and hopes that are possible with a new University ad- ministrative team, Cordially yours, cyst,--1-f Normanj. Not to the strong is the battle, Not to the swift is the race . Q . Ecclesiastes 9:11 fparaphrasedj How do I love thee? Let me count my ways. I love thee with the force of tempered steel that holds together all my frail deformities, the power ofa mind grown far too strong to over- balance any weelcness in my hands. I cannot give thee strength or graceful form but, just for that, my love is twice as great because it seems to thrive in desert soil and flourish in indif- ference's drought. I love thee with the power of my will, my mind and heart and soul, my everything, and when the spark of this frail form shall fail, then have no doubt that I shall love thee still.
