Teacher Memories My Best memories of my years so far at La Serna have been the Choirs of the 1960 ' s, the Hilltoppers of 1968, the year our Junior ' C Football Team finished 9-0-1. Another best memory was the year our Varsity Football team won the AAA CIF Championship, 1968. The changes that I have seen in the last 25 years have been mainly the changes in peoples ' attitude about school. Students are still friendly and it ' s fun to teach them in class and get to know them outside of class. I would rather teach at La Serna than at any other campus. Believe me, comparison will tell you how fortunate you are to be a Lancer. — Wes Reed My best memories of my years so far at La Serna have been the students and the people 1 have been in contact with at La Serna. Having an ex-student teach or work at La Serna. Another memory has been the beauty of the campus. Furthermore the coaches I ' ve worked with and the athletes I have coached. The changes that I have seen in the last 25 years have been the transition of administration staff and other person- nel as the school has grown and gotten older. This seems to be going fairly smooth. I feel fortunate to have taught part of my teaching career at La Serna. — Bob David 28

Of La Serna s First Years The thing I most remember of my years at La Serna was when we first opened. I remember how good it felt when a room was finished. Also how nice it was when we had grass and sidewalks. In the last 25 years, there have been many positive changes in educational programs, equipment and facilities. But yet the student population stays pretty much the same. I like to say that the kids stay the age 14-18, but the teachers get older. — Joan Bell There are two best memories that stand out. My last Varsity Football team that shared the League Champion- ship and defeated Huntington Beach and Long Beach Wil- son to reach the CIF quarter finals at Long Beach Arena. And my first computer programming class which was taught by using one micro computer with IK memory. The changes that I have seen in the last 25 years have been incresed attention to girls athletics on the part of the administration. Another change has been the use of comput- ers to assist instruction. Also, the development of the Ad- vanced Placement Honors Programs at LSHS. — Dr. Jack Pribnow 29
