Pictured above are Lorraine Si- kora, sophomore editorg Mary Anrr Harvey, junior editorg Joan Roch- nowski, editorg and Mr. Robert Hays, adviser. These four individu- als have been the backbone of the Caval-Currents for the past year. The reporters pictured at the right have done an expert job of writing about the events at L-P. Some of the feature articles are- The Current Question written by Pat Callahan where Pat asks some of the students and faculty for their opinions on a current topic at L-P, Senior Spotlight by Sharon Samp- son and Nancy Mersch where they interview a senior boy or girl each week, Meet The Faculty by Darlene Wallock where she interviews the teachers at L-P, giving everyone a peek at their home life, I Witness by Sarah Richards who writes the latest scoops at L-P, School Notes by Judy Roda, and the editorials written by the editors. Putting all these features to- gether, plus the stories from the re- porters, L-P has a small replica of a city newspaper in the Caval-Cur- rents. Susie Soens and Bill Pearson, like many other students, have learned to watch the exhibit cases for the attractive dust covers which announce new library books. 4 l Betty Pezanoslci and john Strell find that students at L-P have access to a rich guidance collection. Hundreds of pamphlets and books concerning vocations, as well as the most recent college, university, and professional school catalogs, are added each year. .4-g, Microfilm equipment for thc library was made possible by the generous gifts of the Class of 1958 and the Class of 1938 at its reunion. Don Kreacic apprccia ates the convenience of using the New York Times on microfilm. Some assignments call for detailed research, and Kathy Pagani, Judy Roda, and jo Ann Planker prepare bibliographies from the card catalog. The catalog, which indexes over 19,000 volumes, was expanded this year to keep pace with the library's ever growing collection. The library assistants devote one period each day to service in the library. Much of the routine desk work is their responsibility, and on their efficiency depends in a large measure the smooth operation of the library.
