The girls came to school with the most novel shoes on. The front parts were all right, but the heels had sticks under them, forcing the girls to walk on their toes. Silks, satins, and velveteens were Dr. Lewis surely fooled those kids with his magic tricks at the Sadie Hawkins Dance. They Joan Lipka, Bob Hyson, Dolores Kaszynski, Clyde Karlosky. Hughett, Eleanor Mills, Barbara Kotecki, Shirley swished along the halls with white shirts and ties joining the procession. After school, I ioined L-P students in a very delicious cup of tea. l read in the newspaper this evening that it was called the Junior-Senior Tea. were very complicated, but he didn't fool me, for no one fools a leprechaun. rw, ,K el s l Tu' X , ll ' 'I I llla' . f Y , bk 2 O f IIIII f , If Q, s I 4 Clara Groleau, Betty Lavens, Donna Rose, Guy Scoma, Clyde Students Not Pictured Karlosky, Kenneth Mclnerney, Carole Burke, Thomas Budlong, John Diddle, Ardith Symond, Joan Chadbourne, Patricia June Rose, Raymond Gross, Gary Parker, Mr. John Willard. I think this new movie invention is a splendid idea. I took a little ride with Mr. William Peters and a group of kids in the Drivers Training car the other day, I don't want to get into a contrap- tion like that again. Faith and b'gora, it nearly I like the way that Proiection Team works, they really perform a service for faculty and students of L-P. took the heart out of me. I did like the windshield wipers, though! 'Tis quite a miracle Mr. Peters has survived these students' techniques of driving for four years. Mr. Peters, Shirley Murtaugh, Ann Murray, Barbara Daniel. This Sox Hop sure was a novel affair. I thought of mixing up the shoes, but decided against it for I might be expelled. I don't want to leave yet, 'tis true, I like it here. Reminds me of good old Ireland-this folk dancing! A few of the kids from the lunior class gave an assembly for their classmates. I must say, I thoroughly enioyed the performance. Paul Hockings Minister marries Jim Lushina and Melva Croissant Santa Claus crowns Rosie Ficek and Jerry How these LP girls can run' In November the girls asked boys for dates CI thought these dates were a kind of fruit until a fair colleen explained it to mel One thing I never quite understood was why the boys wore vegetables on their shirts Jesrolowskt Such a delightful night' Sure and it was with the crowning of a king and queen Santa Claus was there too we had quite a friendly little chat He and I have been friends for nearly 200 years you know' Page seventeen I I the annual Sadie Hawkins Dance was held. Voice Qf L-P Speaks' I am a radio star! I opened and closed the door twice on a broadcast forthe Radio Club one afternoon. L-P has a program every other week, but I lust appeared on one show. I want to give the others a chance, too! Radio Club members have their own room above the auditorium, I've been there, but I haven't touched the new Magnecord Tape Re- corder. So many duties connected with radio club, they wear the students out so they have to elect two sets of omcers each year. First semester ofticers were Alan Sumberg, president, Valerie Capello, vice-president, Conrad Locander, secre- tary-treasurer. Officers for the second semester were Ramona Weber, president, Nancy Dee, vice-president, Margo Miller, Secretary-Treasurer. I sneaked up to the recording room and listened to my voice five times in a row. What inventions will these Americans think of next? This was tollovved by the Christmas baskets for the needy. Later in the year a Keep L-P Clean plan was proposed. The group consists of sixty-eight represen- tatives, a boy and girl from each homeroom- and me, of course. Douglas Kimber was elected president to lead the Student Council next year, and if l'm around, of course, I'll help him! Student Council ofticers who served this year were Margo Miller, assistant sec- retaryp Rita Anderson, sec- retary, John Schweickert, president, Don Haas, trea- surer, Gene Smith vice- president. I was glad when the weather got too bad for the sophomores to play speedball outside. I was losing weight trying to keep up with that ball. Those girls were all over that practice field. I used to try to keep up with Miss Stevens as she refereed. Speedball taught us skills of soccer and basketball. Badminton Many a feather left the bird, as iuniors and seniors learned to play Badminton. I became quite good at catching them as they fell. They will look fine on my new hat, and those birds will never miss them. Ping Pong Here again I chased balls for the ping pong'ers. Of course they don't go far because the girls play in the little room below 203 during rainy days in the fall. I'm learning to swing a wicked paddle. I wish I had stilts.
