In the Captain's Office andthe Personnel Office, X Division Headquarters , virtually all the ship's typing and correspondence is done. In these offices all enlisted and officer service records are kept and processed, all orders typed up, all leave papers drawn up and POD's put out daily. Those guys who dragged mail bags all over the ship during the cruise were also X Divi- sion boys, Postal Clerks from the ship's Post Office. All material published aboard ship is run off in the print shop, an X Divi sion responsibility LA SALLE's gendarmes, the Master-at Arms force, and the ship's legal department are also a part of X Division Under the aegis of the Executive Officer, ENS Arneth acted as Administrative Assistant and Legal Officer and ENS Johnson as Personnel and X Division Officer.
