S-1 DIVISION Supply Office - SK2 Wallace, SKC Blackwell, SKSN Pequinot Do or Die for Ole Supply has always been the motto of S-1 Division and especially so during our Mediterranean Deployment. lt would stagger one's imagina- tion to comprehend the tons of material received, stowed and issued and the mountains of pa- per Work processed by your friendly storekeepers. Supplying the needs of a ship the size of LA SALLE is a continuous and tedious job. To show how busy S-1 Division Was during our Med- iterranean Deployment, the storekeepers issued 2,890 cans of scouring powder, 63 pails of wax, 337 swabs, 201 brooms and 574 sponges. Also, 636 pens, 396 pencils, 2,034 packages of paper were issued to the various offices. For morale purposes, 5,160 rolls of toilet paper were issued. In addition to supplying the parts and material vital in the operation of LA SALLE, the storekeepers were called on to furnish, from LA SALLE 's stock, parts to ships in company.
