This year's Homecoming Dance was a Night in Rivertown. The dance committee did an outstanding job turning the gymnasium into a dance hall. There was even a steamboat! Our queen this year was Carol Jana, a Junior at Mother of Mercy High School. She was escorted by Terry DeSalvo. Her court consisted of Patty Brueneman, Patty Klosterman, Mindy Malay, Ann Pierson, and Linda Schuh. Their escorts were Jim Nunn, Mike Houser, Scott Smith, Dave Bennett, and John Flohr, respectively . The Homecoming Committee, without whom this whole event could not have existed, was headed by Gary Booth, Mike Carr, Tony Grote, and John Healy. The Grand Marshall this year was Mr. James Walsh. He is the president of the Alumni Association and graduu ate 0f the, class of 71. The Night Thoreau Spent in J ail This year the drama department chose to present THE NIGHT THOREAU SPENT IN JAIL. Fine performances were given by Jack Greiner as Thoreau. and also by Jim Nunn as Ralph Waldo Emerson. The rest of the cast and crews under the direction of Mr. Sauerbrey did an espe- cially fine job to make this play a great success. 22
