Decade Champs Stage Homecoming Victory Homecoming '69 marked a Decade of Memories as the acknowledgment of mag- nificent spirit. The 'lideal Lancer, character- ized in the ten years of La Salle's existence, was fully realized once again through experi- ence. The opening of this traditional event was marked by a changed Queen Assembly. After the candidate addressed the students with her prepared speech, she chose one of ten questions held by Mr. Ronald Schulte, the Master of Ceremonies. The voting took place later that week on Thursday. The various con- tests of the week created departmental unity as well as a true Lancer spirit. The hall decora- tions contest was won by the Seniors, placing first, and the Freshmen, second. The Sopho- mores won the float contest. Homecoming 69 was further brought to reality by a tremendous 36-6 victory over Pur- cell. The Lancer team effort proved to be too much power for the Cavaliers to overcome, as the Defense kept their forceful image throughout the battle. The highlight of the game was the superior passing ability of Quarterback Bob Orth, who sparked the heroes of the Big Game into action. Bob threw three of his fourteen TD passes of the season in this game, as La Salle experienced its pleasurable Homecoming victory over the no-threat Cavaliers.

V I 5v. v e . Ion . o .p a A A Decade Of Memories Produces Medieval Days The magnificence of the Lancer was por- trayed by the loyalty and spirit of all who be- came involved and put their hearts and hands into Homecoming '69. The past Decade of Memories captured the minds of everyone who stepped inside the Castle of the Lancers. The atmosphere of Medieval Days was cre- ated by the story book castle constructed by the wizard of the Round Table, Br. I'Merlin Pilch. The Castle of La Salle became the ideal place for the 250 knights and their ladies, who danced to the music provided by the Pete Wagner Orchestra. This enjoyable and memorable evening was climaxed when the Queen candidates, led by their escorts, proceeded to the Throne. Kris Otto, a senior at St. Ursula, was led to the Throne to take the Queenship of La Salle upon her shoulders by formally accepting the crown and robe of royalty from last year's Queen, Peggy Strasser.
