. ytx . V4, The ttCotton BalV was the finishing touch to a rainy but most successful Homecoming week. It has become a La Salle tradition that decorations for Homecoming dances be unique. The thotton Balr, was in keeping with this tradition. Mr. Ronald Schulte, Mike Walters, and their many assistants tried to capture the mood of the Old South with a mural of a steamboat and a three- dimensional dock, from which Bruce Brownfield and his band produced their quality dancing music. The climax of the evening came when Chris Appiarius was crowned as queen for the year 1967-68. rat' .55'h

CiYou Can,t Take It With You,,: A Rousing Success , The first play of the year, Moss HartisBroadway comedy iiYou Carft Take It With You? was a rousing success. Brother Christopheris Hrst production was staged before large crowds on Nov. 17, 18, and 19. The play is set in New York in the mid-1930's. It is a sensitive and humor- ous portrayal of the love of two young people from different classes of society, and how they and their families finally overcome their differ- ences. The leading roles of Grandpa, Tony, and Alice were well-por- trayed by Steve Goodman, George Schuster, and Gail Westendorf. After witnessing this play, all looked forward with great expectation t0 the traditional spring musical.
