Plagued By Injuries This year was a rebuilding year for the cross-country team. There were a few pleasant surprises, but also many disappoint- ments. The squad, led by Mr. Swinson, lost some of its top runnerc due to injuries or other problems, but made a fairly good showing. The team had strong senior runners in Steve O,Bryan and Dick Birth, and three hard-working juniors, Bob LaChance, Jim Reu- ter, and Ken Buschur, gave the team an unexpected boost. The prospects are very encouraging for next year, with top juniors re- turning, and a very strong reserve team primed for varsity compe- tition.

Action Prevails At Frosh Gym Night The Freshmen had to yield to rainy weather and football practice before they could finally hold the annual Gym Night, but it was well worth the wait. Everyone had a good time and there was no room for boredom, with the events ranging from football to rope-climbing to a paper-plate discus throw. The inter-room competition was feverish, and there were numerous controversies over scores and missing ref- erees. Freshman A 306 Enally emerged the victor, defeating Freshman H 304 by three slim points. And so the Frosh Gym Night became a memory, one of the first of many good memories the class of ,71 would have from LaSalle.
