Yearbook Finished; Only Two Casualties A loosely-knit and highly-chaotic staff ac- cidently produced a rather unique annual for the 1964-65 schooiyear. Prodded by a some- what psychotic Bill Lee, the yearbook struggled along with a highly inefficient and third-rate staff. The Racontvur will come to be regarded as one of the most interesting undertakings in the annals of publishing history. Bizarre and un- believable layouts were literally strewn on paper by unhinged and depraved neurotics. Midnight scream sessions followed eleven dclock skull sessions. Deadlines were missed, copy was fouled up, pictures were lost, editors became sick, some died, funerals wasted a lot of production time and all had fun. RON DOLAN TOM KLUMB BOB ALF FIRST PAGE SECOND PAGE THIRD PAGE Newspaper Increases Circulation; Features Celebrity Interviews The newspaper put on an entirely new face this year, The new moderator, Brother Cormac, Chose five editors, expanded the number of issues from saved to nine, extended circulation to McAuley and refurnished the newspaper office. Brother Cormac enrolled the Ledger in the National Scholastic Press Association. Each semester the Associa- tion rates and judges the yearis issues and places them in categories. The Ledger achieved the First Class Hon or Rating this year. Among the many new experiments the Ledger tried were interviews with noted personalities such as Peter, Paul and Mary and Jack Twyman and an expanded Letters to the Editor column. This gave the students the chance to compliment or gripe about the previous issue. Another regular feature was a column written by Dave Nickel, a talented senior, whose biting wit sparked every issue. TOM FINKE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF 26
