LA SALLE HIGH SCHOOL 3t39 1 bJCDIti'Ii B.EIJID IKCDIXID CINCINNATI 39 ' OHIO TELEPHONE MULBERRY 1.5200 Dear Graduates, This yearbook is a pictorial history of the four years that you, the Premier Graduation Class, spent at La Salle High Schoolo These were years filled with memories, such as those of the registration day, when the school building was still nothing but a foundation, those of the frantic rush to prepare eight classrooms for the opening day of school, with many a volunteer freshman working long hours into the night assembling desks and lockers, those of bulldozers roaring under the class- room windows, the pounding of construction crews, the dust, the plaster everywhere. the eating 0f lunches in the classroom until the cafeteria became ready, and finally the first gathering of the freshmen in the come plated gym. Other memories crowd forward, memories of classroom activities, of the beginnings of a sporting program, the first appearance of our teams in the colors of La Salle, the first singing of the school song, the first practice of the band. As the years went on, the numbers increased, both of faculty and of students. New memories come to the fore with the widening of the scope of activities, the school paper, the glee club, the orgenizing of the F. T. A., the first student dance in the gym, the first basketball game, the first formal dance away from school. Finally, the completed school with all four departments brings us to the final year as seniors, the leaders of the school. You recall the campaign for the election of officers for the Student Council, the organizing of the senior class, the senior Prom, the Graduation Rings, and finally Commencement Day, with cap and gown, and the Diploma the sign of four years well spent. You have been a wonderfully cooperative class, one of the finest I have ever dealt with, and I am proud of you for the fine tone you have set to the school, the leadership you have given it as its first Graduation Class. . tw-HRH is you leave the school now, I look to you again to carry on the training you have received as true sons of the saint whose name the . school bears. I look to you to be apostolic Catholics who will make an 2 impact on the world because of the education you have received.
