Student government is not the only area in which leadership is displayed. Academic and athletic lead- ership are equal in importance. Outstanding in the academic sphere are the Seniors shown at right and below. Above are four of La Salle's five Final- ists in National Merit Competition. They are Anthony Finnerty, James Black- stock, Thomas Faherty, and Thomas Powers, the other finalist was John Crawford. Most of the semi-finalists in State Scholarship competition are Cl. to r.J Bob Mallek, Jim Blackstock, Gary Drean, Jack Siefker, Steve Ready, Tony Fin- nerty, Jay Ziegler, Bob Trout, Jim Mar- torana, Tom Powers, Greg Fiqueroa, Terry Slavin, and Tom Faherty.
